A surprise proposal in Brockton, ma
Surprise proposals always get my heart racing with excitement and nervousness! I’m not sure who was more anxious—me or Marlon, the one proposing. Marlon chose D.W. Field Park in Brockton, MA, by a pond at sunset to ask Naveta to marry him. The plan was a photo session with friends and family for Marlon’s dad’s birthday. Soon, Naveta noticed Marlon and quickly understood what was happening! When he got down on one knee, she couldn’t have said yes any faster. It was so special to have their close friends and family there to see this important moment. I love that my job lets me capture such beautiful memories!
Maternity and newborn session
I had the opportunity to meet a new couple who were pregnant with their second child and wanted some maternity photos and also hired me to eventually shoot some newborn photos at their home. For the maternity session, they wanted photos with evergreen trees, so off to my favorite location, The Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University in Boston we went! This location is just a gem with the wide variety of plant and tree life. For the newborn photos, we had an at-home session in the Brookline, MA home. I love at-home sessions. The photos resonate so well because the location is so meaningful, being it’s the client’s home! It also works so well because clients, especially little children feel comfortable in their own spaces, which translates to warm, happy photos. If you haven’t had an at-home session, I highly recommend doing one. A consistency between the two sessions was the client had her parents and sister present for photos. So it was fun including the aunt and grandparents of the new child.
NEW ENGLAND FALL FAMILY SESSIONS
Here are two favorite sessions from last year. One was at Fresh Pond in Cambridge, MA and the other was out in Hopkinton, MA and Dean Park in Shrewsbury, MA. Both sessions were accompanied by beautiful Fall colors we get here in New England during the autumn season. Both families were playful, fun, and themselves, and were so easy to work with, which always results in great photos!
A Fall GLoucester Wedding
The North Sore of Boston, especially and specifically Gloucester, Massachusetts is quintessential New England. It almost doesn’t get more New England than this…at least to me! I had the pleasure of photographing Jonathan and Ruth’s wedding in a small church in a quiet neighborhood in this part of the state back in October 2024. It was simple, quaint and it was totally them. It was celebrated with close family and friends and ended with square dancing and farewell bubbles amongst the autumn leaves as the couple exited.

Winchester Library family session
I love a good returning customer! Who doesn’t?! This family has been returning for fall photos for a few years now and it’s always great to see the little ones growing up. Great testament for making it an annual thing to document your family! We chose the outdoor area around Winchester Library in the quaint downtown area of Winchester, MA. The library has a neat stone look and the weeping willows add a nice touch next to the nearby pond. We also ventured off a little bit down a path for a few different backdrop options. The neat thing about this session is you don’t always have to book your session too far away from home to get fun photos!
Playful, wooded family session
This is a perfect example of my ethos on family photo sessions. The clients’ kiddos had just woken up from a nap as they arrived to our location and they were still tired and not really into having photos done. I come fully prepared for this and allow the time for kids to warm up and get used to me. And I get it, I mean, it is weird for them—I’m a stranger taking photos of them and they are most likely thinking, “who is this guy!?” After letting the parents know fully well that I understand this (that I have 4 kids myself,) and not to worry, just to interact with their kids and play with them, they eventually warmed up and were running around, playing with sticks and exploring in the nearby woods at Minute Man National Historical Park in the Lexington, Lincoln, MA area. I’m pretty happy with the results!
Cocktail competition Featuring Glendalough Spirits
I photographed a cocktail competition hosted by Mark Anthony Crafted Spirits and Glendalough Distillery at The Baldwin Bar in Woburn, MA. Seven spectacular bartenders battled it out creating craft cocktails, using Glendalough Spirits and each came up with an artful, imaginative, and creative concoction!
Family session at bird park in Walpole, MA
I got to photograph the family of a former coworker, along with some of her husband’s extended family. I always love visiting new locations that my clients pick out. This session took place at Francis William Bird Park in Walpole, MA…or Bird Park! This spot was quaint with some bridges, a pond, and a nice variety of trees, plants and bushes, providing a nice backdrop. Here of some of my favorite images from the session:
Justin’s proposal to nicole at Rochambeau in Boston, MA
Nothing gets the excitement and the nerves going than a proposal! And I’m just the one taking the photos! I had the great opportunity to witness and document Justin’s proposal to Nicole at Rochambeau in Boston, MA. I definitely have to revisit this French restaurant. I waited for a bit at the ready for the couple to arrive nearby the planned location on the second floor and when finally I saw them come up the stairs out of the corner of my eye,…it was go time. Well, as any good proposal goes: he got on one knee, she was gleefully surprised and said yes! We then took some photos inside and then out before the two newly engaged couple celebrated with family.
Arriving early pays off
I showed up for my engagement session at Appleton Farms in Ipswich, Massachusetts like 2 hours early. This was not on purpose! The time I had in my head did not match what I had in my calendar, lol, but made the best of the extra time I had. I decided to scope out the area as I’ve never been to this location before. It has beautiful wooded areas with trails and wide open spaces with crops growing and a fun farm area with animals. I came up with some creative ideas, specifically one where I wanted to play with scale and make the couple look small amongst a patch of kale. I was pretty stoked to actually pull this off and make that vision a reality. I really like this image a lot—it’s fun and whimsical and there’s a chance I may not have noticed this or came up with this idea if I didn’t have that extra time at the beginning to scope out ideas.

Mike and Becky engagement at Horn Pond
This may be one of my top favorite engagement sessions I’ve ever done. Mike and Becky showed up ready to go at Horn Pond in Woburn, MA, a place they’ve visited before. They were totally into each other and just looked natural and fabulous in front of the camera. Beautiful evening light throughout, a stunning sunset, cute baby geese (you can’t plan this, especially for a couple that are into birds!), and some of my definite favorite silhouettes, just pushed this one over the top!
Hawthorne Hotel wedding
My very good friends Steve and Alicia tied the knot at the lovely Hawthorne Hotel in Salem, Massachusetts last February. Actually, the day of this posting is their 1-year anniversary! Steve Sheridan is a very talented photographer himself and what an honor it was to be asked to photograph his wedding. It was also special because I had my wife second shooting alongside me—her first and last wedding, lol! Below are some of my faves from this wedding.
A Batifol wedding
Adrian and Deanna were so chill and laid back and they were the best couple to work with to start of the year with their small, intimate wedding in Cambridge, MA. The couple both got ready at the Royal Sonesta hotel, overlooking the Charles River, before heading to Batifol, a chic French restaurant in the Kendall Square neighborhood. My favorite image from his group of images is absolutely the one of Deanna walking into the ceremony space and seeing Adrian for the first time. The emotion in this image says it all for me!
A New England, Gloucester Wedding
Some weddings just feel like New England.
This December celebration took place in Gloucester — a quintessential North Shore town by the ocean. Even in winter, Gloucester carries that coastal charm: quiet streets, salty air, historic homes, and a softness to the light that feels distinctly Massachusetts.
What stood out most about this day were the moments in between. A quiet moment framed by window light. A packed dance floor with generations circling together — including a grandmother right in the middle of it all. Pink clouds in the fading light, and bistro lights glowing in the dark winter night.
I’m always drawn to images that focus on shape, emotion, and story — photographs that feel timeless whether in color or black and white. Winter weddings lend themselves naturally to that kind of imagery. The tones are clean. The light is directional. The emotion feels unfiltered.
As a Boston and North Shore wedding photographer, I love documenting days like this — celebrations that embrace the season and the character of the town they’re in.

At Home Family Session
Last April, I had the pleasure of capturing the family session of Alex and his wife Joanne and their son Nathan right in the heart of their home. Joanne reached out and told me Nathan had just lost both of his two front teeth and wanted to remember this time in her child’s life.
I love this! There are always reasons to book a family session. It doesn’t always have to be overly planned with a location out of the way at golden hour. Don’t get me wrong, a love a cool location out in nature with beautiful light. Everyone is different, and I also know the thought of having photos in your home can bring about anxiety because of the way it looks or how messy the clutter makes it look. It’s not for everyone, but personally, I love home sessions. There’s just something uniquely special about photographing families in the comfort of their own space. The familiarity of home brings out genuine emotions and connections, resulting in authentic moments and heartfelt interactions. As a photographer, I love this location for the way it allows families to relax and be themselves, especially children as I encourage interaction and play. The photos captured in a home setting beautifully encapsulate the true essence of the family's dynamics and relationships. This all results in memorable photos that will be uniquely yours.
We started the session out in front of their home to give their gallery a sense of place and to take some simple photos to “warm up” a bit. This was actually my second session with this family, but it had been over a year since we last saw each other. We then moved out back to play with some Lego and their dog before moving inside to read some books, jump on a bed, and made time for some mom and dad photos (which I always make sure I do with my family sessions). My favorite time of this shoot was cupcake decorating, which made for my favorite images and what better way to end than with a cupcake cheers?!
A Winter Wedding at Park Street Church| Boston Wedding Photographer
There’s something especially meaningful about photographing a wedding in a place that already feels like home.
Lydia and Lyford were married on January 21 in the heart of downtown Boston at Park Street Church — a historic landmark that once stood as the tallest building in the United States from 1810–1828. Its timeless architecture, rich history, and location right on Boston Common make it an iconic setting for a classic New England wedding.
But for me, this one was personal.
I’ve been attending Park Street since 2012, back when I first started dating my now wife. Over the years, it’s become the church where we worship as a family — a place filled with memories, friendships, and faith. I had always hoped that one day I’d have the opportunity to photograph a wedding there.
When Lydia and Lyford asked me to document their wedding at Park Street, I was genuinely honored. There’s a unique responsibility that comes with photographing a ceremony in a sacred space you know so well — understanding the rhythm of the service, the way the light falls through the sanctuary windows in winter, the quiet reverence before the bride walks down the aisle.
January weddings in Boston carry their own beauty. The air is crisp, the city feels calm, and the warm tones inside the church create a beautiful contrast to the winter light outside. After the ceremony, stepping out into downtown Boston as newlyweds always feels cinematic — historic brick, cobblestone streets, and the skyline just beyond the Common.
Lydia and Lyford’s day was joyful, worshipful, and full of genuine emotion — the kind of wedding that reminds me why I love being a Boston wedding photographer.
It was the perfect way to begin the year.
