How to Have Your Engagement Photos Taken at Fenway Park | Boston Engagement & wedding Photographer

If you’re a Boston sports fan, it doesn’t get much more iconic than Fenway Park.

For many couples, Fenway isn’t just a baseball stadium. It’s where they’ve watched games together, celebrated victories, gone on dates, or shared part of their story. That’s what makes it such a unique location for engagement photos.

The good news is that engagement photos inside Fenway Park are possible.

The challenge is that they require some planning.

Can You Take Engagement Photos Inside Fenway Park?

Yes—but you generally cannot simply walk into the stadium and start taking photos.

Because Fenway Park is private property, couples typically need to coordinate access through the Boston Red Sox events team in advance. Availability depends on the baseball schedule, special events, maintenance, and stadium operations.

How to Arrange a Fenway Park Engagement Session

If you’re interested in having engagement photos taken inside Fenway Park, the first step is contacting the Red Sox events department (https://www.mlb.com/redsox/official-information/contact).

In my circumstance, to be transparent, one of my clients worked at Fenway Park at the time of their engagement session, so she had coordinated everything herself well in advance.

When you reach out, ask about:

  • Private photo session availability

  • Available dates and times

  • Areas of the stadium that can be accessed

  • Current fees and requirements

  • Any photography restrictions that may apply

Policies and pricing can change over time, so it’s always best to get information directly from the Red Sox rather than relying on older online articles.

What Makes Fenway Park Such a Great Engagement Session Location?

Few places instantly say “Boston” quite like Fenway Park.

The Green Monster, historic grandstands, red seats, brick architecture, and surrounding Fenway neighborhood all create a setting that feels uniquely Boston. Many couples choose Fenway because it reflects an important part of their relationship and creates photographs that are personal as well as visually distinctive.

Some of my favorite spots include:

  • Along the warning tracks

  • Out in the grandstands

  • On top of the dugouts

  • The right field Roof Deck

  • The concourse areas and entrances onto the fields

Each area provides a different look while still maintaining that unmistakable Fenway feel. You really can’t pick a bad location at Fenway Park!

What If You Can’t Get Inside the Stadium?

Don’t worry.

Some of the best Fenway engagement photos don’t require access to the field at all.

The surrounding neighborhood offers countless opportunities for photos, including:

  • Jersey Street

  • The "Teammates" statue is located at the corner of Ipswich St. and Van Ness St. outside near Gate B of the stadium

  • Lansdowne Street

  • Fenway Park exterior entrances

  • Red Sox murals and signage

  • Nearby brownstones and city streets

These locations still provide a strong Boston and Red Sox connection while often allowing more flexibility during the session.

Tips for a Successful Fenway Engagement Session

  • Wear something comfortable

  • Consider the details (my couple used number signage to correlate to their wedding date of October 26th)

  • Schedule early (availability inside Fenway can be limited, especially during baseball season)

  • Think about incorporating jerseys, hats, tickets, etc. in some of your photos

  • Consider your own special love story. The best engagement sessions are about more than a location. Fenway works best when it has genuine meaning to the two of you.

Why Fenway Park Engagement Photos Remain Timeless

The photos featured in this post were taken back in 2013, but they still feel just as relevant today. That’s because great engagement photos aren’t about trends. They’re about places that matter. Fenway Park has been part of Boston’s identity for more than a century, and for many couples, it’s part of their story as well.

Whether you’re lifelong Red Sox fans or simply love the history and character of the ballpark, Fenway remains one of the most unique engagement photo locations in Massachusetts.
